The dark pigment in the hair follicles absorbs the heat from the laser resulting in destruction of the follicles and preventing the hair from re-growing. The hair follicle must contain some color pigment to be destroyed, the darker the hair the better the reduction. The GMAX can also reduce lighter colored hair better then any IPL system. As a general rule the hair must be darker then the surrounding skin.

The GMAX protects the skin during treatment for ultimate comfort and safety. GMAX removes unwanted hair as safe as possible without damaging delicate pores and structures of the skin. During a treatment, the Laser light eradicates hundreds of hair follicles within seconds.

The hair on our body grows in cycles. There are three phases of hair growth per cycle. They are:

1. Anagen
2. Catagen
3. Telogen

The first phase of the cycle is when hair removal works. It is the only phase of the cycle where the hair is still attached to the follicle. The heat from the Laser then travels down the shaft of the hair and penetrates the follicle. When this happens, the heat will destroy the follicle and it will no longer be able to produce hair. There is usually no more than about 20% to 30% of our hairs in the Anagen phase at any given time. This is one of the main reasons why a person needs multiple treatments for Laser hair removal. On a mans’ face this growth can be up 80% at once, resulting in excellent treatments.

Absolutely, our nail lounge can accommodate up to three people at one time with a combination of Manicure & Pedicure services.  We can also do couples/friends massages with two people in one treatment room.  At this time our team consists of three estheticians, so we can do three treatments at once if booked in advance.  HeavenSpa only has one Microderm machine, and one HydraFacial machine, so these treatments cannot be done more then one at a time.

Yes you can.  With warts we cover the affected area with duct tape and work around the issue.  We do not treat or remove warts.  With fungal infections, we do recommend some follow up treatments with our laser technician and a take home anti fungal ointment.  Pedicure services can improve the look of the toes, but does not remove fungal infections.

Gelish polish is a product similar to regular polish applied with our manicure services that lasts up to two weeks.  It does not damage the nail bed if removed properly, removal can be done in the spa or at home by buffing the top surface down and soaking in acetone polish remover.  It does take longer, but the longer lasting results are worth it.  Removal kits are available in the spa for $10.

The hair should be about as long as a grain of rice for best results.  If you have been waxing for a long time, it may be successful at shorter lengths, but for your first time the longer will be better.  We usually space waxing from 4-6 weeks for best results.

We recommend that you do not wax for your first time before a vacation.  Some times your first wax may result in a mild break out as your skin is not used to this service.  We suggest your first wax to be 5 weeks before your holiday and then once again within the week before you go.  You do not want to wax over freshly tanned skin and you do not want freshly waxed skin to be in the sun within 24hrs.  If you wax consistently , you should have your waxing services within the week before you leave.

The same Venus Swan Radio Frequency technology can treat acne and acne scarring. The uniform delivery of heat into the dermis is an unfavorable environment for acne bacteria to survive. The collagen synthesis will also initiate the wound healing process in your skin, minimizing scars and marks.  In your consultation we will discuss the severity of your condition and procedure that will work best for you. A course of acne treatments will ideally include a series of Microdermabrasion and AHA acid peels and professional skin care for home . The number of treatments will depend on the depth of the acne. Two or more will be required for visible results.

A tightening effect will be visible immediately and will continue to firm throughout the month.  The fat cells are immediately effected, but need time to be eliminated by the bodies natural resources.  A series of 6 for the face and 10 for the body is optimal and the results will be the most noticeable 3 months after the final treatment. Each treatment is recommended 1-2 weeks apart. A Microdermabrasion and a Hydra Facial are also recommended to improve the hydration and clarity of the skin surface on the face.

A tight feeling may be noticeable but no discomfort will be felt. You will experience no down time after your treatment. You may notice slight redness in you skin from the warmth of the treatment and this will disappear very shortly after.  Your face will be protected by our professional sunscreen and you may resume normal activities. Makeup can be applied immediately after.

There will be no discomfort in this procedure. The Radio Frequency energy is delivered evenly to the skin feeling like a hot stone massage.  A therapeutic temperature is achieved within the first minute and maintained for the duration of the treatment.  A infrared thermometer is used to insure the therapeutic temperature is maintained during the treatment.

With all of our AromaFacials and Body Treatments you may use our private & complimentary steam room for 30 mins prior to your service start time.  Please let us know with your customer notes in your online booking or over the phone, and we shall have it all ready for you.  We do not offer steam room sessions after treatments or without treatments.

Microderm can be spaced however you wish.  One month being the shortest , and up to 3 or 4 months with the change of the seasons.  You can use your results to gage your distance between, having appointments when you want to look your best.

The microderm is a dry exfoliation using diamond tip abrasive wands and suction.  Microderm is a slightly more aggressive treatment then the HydraFacial.    HydraFacials are using moisture solutions whilst exfoliating and infusing vitamins and hydrators into the skin.  All skin types can have both treatments, the Microderm also has an option for a more intense AHA peel upgrade, enhancing the treatment results.

If you have had treatments with HeavenSpa before, you can have a facial any time you wish.  If this is your first time, you may want to plan 1-2 weeks before any special event or have a treatment 4-6 weeks earlier to ensure you have no negative reactions.  The best time of day to have a facial is when you can stay relaxed after and ideally not wear any makeup for the rest of the day.
