What is it?
This is the fastest and strongest hair reduction laser which can, in some people, give superior results to IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) machines. It is also very safe and has the best track record of achieving permanent hair reduction in all skin colours. This is because it comprises two separate lasers – the Alexandrite laser for hair reduction on people with fair skin and the 1064 YAG laser for use on those with dark or tanned skin. In fact, it’s one of the only lasers effective on lighter hair – particularly on those who’ve experienced unsuccessful hair reduction in the past. It also has the most effective surface cooling of all lasers, using unique cryogenic cooling.

How long does the procedure take?
5-60 minutes per session, depending on the size of the area targeted. Hair reduction with the Candela GMAX Laser requires a third to half the time to complete each treatment compared to most other laser machines. Due to its power and effectiveness, fewer treatments will also be required. You will need 4-8 sessions over about 12 months due to hair growth stages and the area targeted.
Is there any aftercare?
For the first 24 hours, avoid the sun, exfoliation and tight clothing as these can irritate the area. Your hair should not be waxed or tweezed during the treatment period as this encourages hair growth and strength. But you may shave, bleach or trim the area.
